Christian Dog Lovers and Kitsch

Kitsch is a fun word. I think it might be a Yid­dish word, but what­ever it’s ori­gin, it describes this site per­fectly. There’s some­thing about dog peo­ple in gen­eral that makes them fail to see suck when they’re sur­rounded by it. Before the hate mail starts rolling in, I don’t mean all dog peo­ple but have you noticed that the Mac­in­tosh crowd is more likely to own a cat? I have dogs and cats, so maybe I get a pass…

What the hell is with the butterflies?

The first thing one notices when vis­it­ing this site is, you can’t read ANYTHING! The text is stacked on the other text, the words leak onto other words, the images look like they were done in an early ver­sion of MS Paint… Oh, and there are but­ter­flies… Fly­ing… Everywhere…

The sil­li­est thing I think I’ve ever seen is the dog in the mid­dle of the page. An Afghan Hound (which isn’t the most attrac­tive dog in the world) with wings sten­ciled on it, flap­ping. It’s actu­ally mildly dis­turb­ing that some­one spent time on that, and then decided, even after see­ing the fin­ished prod­uct, to pub­lish it.

Remem­ber the post about the ball­room dance sup­ply store and polit­i­cal involve­ment? Here we go again… With a name like Hosanna1.com, the own­ers are reli­gious. A quick glance around the page con­firms it. So why are they against the gov­ern­ment ban­ning smok­ing? Shouldn’t they cel­e­brate the gov­ern­ment forc­ing a reli­gious view on the world? Once again, if you want a polit­i­cal site, set one up. Dogs and pol­i­tics don’t belong on the same page (Except the shaggy DA. He can stay).

Every link you fol­low is another unread­able mess with no end in site. I won­der where the site owner gets the stones to say “The most Beau­ti­ful Pages On The WWW” over on the right side. To quote Stewie, “Obvi­ously madam, you and I dif­fer greatly in our per­cep­tion of beauty.”
