I’ll Stay Off the Course if You Stay Off the Web
It seems that Nancy is missing a very important piece of her marketing strategy for her golf videos. The website…
Have you ever seen a site that is so bad, no matter how much you needed what was to be found there, you just couldn’t bear to stay? This is that place. It’s like walking into a Wal-Mart in the bad part of town after a snow. The floor is covered with melting slush and everything just looks out of place.
The site is Nancy’s Golf World, and I can’t say I’d take any lessons. It seems that Nancy feels that she is a capable do-it-herselfer as it pertains to her website. I wonder if she ever got a look at it? There are elements all over the place, and in all manner of shapes sizes and colors.
It would seem that she wants us to pay for a membership to her site. I would love to know by what logic this makes sense. If a site owner wants me to frequent her site, shouldn’t she make an effort to at least fool me into thinking that she knows how the Internets work? It’s not like a truck, you can’t just pile things on there (thank you Senator Stevens). There are piles of images and text components. What’s funnier still is that she has a blog, and the blog template is passable. Why not just add pages to it, Nancy?
Judging from her pictures, she doesn’t look half bad. She has a nice golf swing and I’m sure is a capable pro. So why on earth did she opt to do her site herself? Maybe she thinks she did a good job. Maybe all the folks that have sites listed here think they did a good job. I just don’t understand how people can look at things like this and think, “yup, that’ll do ‘er.”
Starting the video and running it without controls is a nice touch too. Wish I’d thought of that.
